WE LOVE SINGING JAZZ!

JCS Ensemble

JCS Ensemble

Jazz Choir Scotland was established in 2013 to provide a place for jazz harmony singing to blossom and develop in Scotland.

Our repertoire currently includes:

Many songs from the Great American Songbook.

The music of – Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Duke Ellington, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Dave Brubeck, Henri Mancini, …and many more.

There is no end to the repertoire we could tackle

That’s the beauty of Jazz!

We regularly put on concerts and invite along guest singers and musicians so both audiences and our members have the opportunity to experience a variety of jazz styles.

To date these concerts have proved very popular with our audiences!

Glasgow is our first choir and is going from strength to strength. We are looking forward to bringing our enthusiasm for jazz singing to other areas soon.

KEY PEOPLE

Carol-Smith-sFOUNDER and CHOIR MANAGER

Carol has been involved in choirs all her life, predominantly singing classical music, but for the past few years she has turned her thoughts and energies to exploring jazz music and in particular her passion for jazz harmony singing.

Carol founded Jazz Choir Scotland in early 2013 to provide singers with the opportunity to sing great jazz songs, both old and new, using correct jazz singing techniques taught by actual jazz singers, vocal coaches and musicians and to perform these songs in concerts with excellent jazz musicians accompanying them. Glasgow Choir is now up and running and going from strength to strength…
